Emma Choi, DVM

Dr. Emma Choi received her degree as a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of California, Davis and her B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. She holds a Fear Free certification in support of working with companion animals to alleviate their fear, anxiety, and stress.

​​She serves in an advisory position as a Subject Matter Expert in Veterinary Medicine at Mendocino ​​​

Food Consulting to provide her years of clinical expertise for our work at the intersection of food, nutrition, and animal wellbeing

For the past nine years, she has served as a veterinarian at Banfield Pet Hospital, where she was responsible for training new veterinarian hires, supported management of the hospital, and performed surgery and outpatient treatment on companion small mammals. She also currently serves as a clinical veterinarian at VCA Animal Hospitals, where she is responsible for conducting soft tissue surgeries, dental extractions, wellness exams, and urgent care. Dr. Choi has experience working with a variety of species including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chinchillas, rabbits, hamsters, and rats.

Dr. Choi was born and raised in San Jose, California. She enjoys hiking, camping, and making miniature dollhouses in her spare time. She has a German Shepherd/Husky mix named Balto and two parakeets.

 

She has been quoted on her expertise in Veterinary Medicine by Newsweek and The Pioneer Woman.
