Sarah Roman, M.A.

Sarah Roman is a journalist-turned-communications strategist with a career built on curiosity, storytelling, and an attention to detail—whether in breaking news, public relations, or brand campaigns.

She spent over a decade in television news, producing for top-rated programs across California and earning three Emmy Awards along the way. Her work ranged from writing live breaking coverage
to developing long-form segments and launching shows from scratch. In the field and newsroom, she covered a wide range of topics, from tech rollouts to red carpets to local community stories. Later, she brought those storytelling skills to unscripted television, segment producing for shows like Survivor (CBS), amongst others.

Sarah then began applying her storytelling skills beyond traditional journalism. She led publicity and content strategy for a National Geographic-affiliated e-commerce brand, helping to amplify artisan voices and connect global audiences to handcrafted goods. That work sparked a broader interest in how narrative can shape brand identity, influence consumer behavior, and build trust.
Since then, Sarah has taken on a range of communications roles across several different sectors—developing PR campaigns, shaping brand messaging, and guiding cross-functional creative teams. She’s also shared her industry insights as an adjunct professor of public relations at Sonoma State University, mentoring students in the art of ethical, impactful communication. Today, she works at the intersection of editorial and brand strategy, crafting campaigns, telling stories, and collaborating with journalists.

Sarah holds a master’s degree from USC’s Annenberg School for Journalism. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
